We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse II (RN II) to join our Cedars-Sinai Mighty Marina Del Ray team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a skilled and effective manner. Utilizing strong clinical decision-making skills, you will independently manage routine patient assignments, establish individualized plans of care, set patient-centered goals, determine care priorities, and ensure all care provided meets established standards of practice.

Qualified candidates must have a current and unrestricted RN license in the state of California, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting is required, along with current BLS certification (additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS may be required depending on the unit). Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • As an RN II in the Med Surg/Tele Unit, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in the 1North unit.
  • Your role is to communicate with physicians/Nursing Unit Director/Charge Nurses/co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition.
  • This includes hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
  • Provides and accurately documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients in a timely manner.
  • Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
  • Provides direct and indirect care services, including, but not limited to, the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.
  • Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and the initiation of peripheral venous access.
  • Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition.
  • Demonstrates refined assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics.
  • Plans and implements individualized patient care based on observations. Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.
  • Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Identifies patient’s readiness for learning and ability to follow directions/instructions and give consent.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and is able to identify and make special adjustments as required to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition needs.
  • Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patient.

QualificationsJob qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience required.
  • Current and active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
