As a Charge Nurse in our Med Surg/Tele Unit, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in the Med Surg/Tele setting. Oversight of unit operations on the assigned shift. Address problems, concerns and/or unanticipated events in a manner that optimizes the smooth functioning of the unit. Serve as a role model and preceptor to unit staff in fulfilling all responsibilities, consider not only the unit perspective but also a broader organizational perspective. Prepare monthly work schedules, make daily patient assignments, schedule breaks and meal periods. Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required minimum and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Preferred.

License/Certifications:

• Valid CA Nursing License required.
• BLS and ACLS required through the American Heart Association required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 (one) year Med Surg/Tele experience, required
• Prior experience as a Charge Registered Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse, required
